What happens when fashion meets circus?
It turns into a top fashion shoot where Opulent Living turns circus artists into fashion models – an unusual concept that becomes a phenomenal showcase for outstanding South African design. The entire fashion shoot was translated into a 4-minute short film to transcend the spirit of the project.
Opulent Living is known for extraordinary image concepts and has previously transformed common topics into visually pleasing experiences. This photo production is a collection of South Africa’s top fashion designers whom have carefully selected their favourite pieces to be captured in a way that they have never been captured before.
The umbrella theme for the shoot closely resembles the performance of the actors, which was at the Zip Zap Circus Dome in Cape Town. Photographer, Fiona MacPherson took ten jaw-dropping scenes during the five-day production. Some examples depict lace detail on one of Gavin Rajah’s black dresses which is highlighted during a nerve wrecking balancing act, and a Chinese pole featuring David Tlale‘s iconic African inspired garments.
The photo feature in Opulent Living Magazine’s Jubilee edition number 10, will include big names such as Abigail Betz, Loin Cloth & Ashes, Marianne Fassler, Thula Sindi, Avant Apparel, Stephania Morland, Ruald Rheeder and Kluk CGDT. In partnership with AFI and Mercedes-Benz, the concept will feature into a 23-page editorial article in Opulent Living Magazine’s upcoming Jubilee edition.
