OCTOBER 2014 – Jaeger-LeCoultre is mostly known as watchmaker for men, but since 2012 the group has been applying their not inconsiderable skill to crafting timepieces for the softer gender.
Their efforts have not gone unnoticed with the Rendez-Vous line having been very well received.
Their latest creation to emerge from Le Sentier, Switzerland is the exquisite Rendez-Vous Ivy Minute Repeater. This new creation exudes a feminine sheen, but remains a Jaeger-LeCoultre thanks to its perfect incorporation complicated mechanics. As a minute repeater, this timepiece has as its beating heart an extremely accurate automatic horological complication that pulse at a cadence of 28,800 vibrations per hour.
This complication is unique because it was developed specifically to fit in a 39mm case, to better compliment the wrist of a stylish woman, and is quite the achievement in its own right. Compressing the inherent complexity of so many small and elegant moving parts together was no small feat.
The result is a timepiece that is not only of exquisite beauty, thanks to its luxurious diamond, white gold and satin exterior; but also exhibits excellence in performance and functionality due to the superiority of its handmade complication.
