Resounding success for fundraiser

AUGUST 2014 – Opulent Living is proud to announce that the recent Cape Leopard Trust fundraising luncheon and auction curated and executed by Opulent Living Experiences was a major success!

The relaxed luncheon held at Leopard Leap’s Family Vineyards on the 16th August was to allow the raising of funds for the trust to continue its valuable conservation work.

The day’s event included a delectable three-course gourmet meal, an auction with one of a kind experiences and items, celebrity guests, and fantastic musical performances and entertainment by South African songstress trio BlackByrd. The fabulous and fun-filled day raised an outstanding R592,000! All the proceeds of the auctions will go towards The Cape Leopard Trust.

The 184 guests in attendance were enthralled by the delectable food prepared by Chefs Pieter de Jager, Neil Jewell, and Vanessa Marx, who were accompanied in the kitchen by celebrity guests Braam MalherbeLiezel van der Westhuizen and Laura Santoni.

The auction was made up of fantastic lots that were in great demand. The lots included a Luxury African Safari Experience by Wilderness Safaris, an photo art print by Adrian Steirn, a dinner for 12 people at Opulent Living’s well-known Tulip House in Green Point and a Leopard mountain bike among others.

The auction was called heralded by Auctioneer Philp Powell who commented, “I’ve never seen an auction organised this well in my whole career”.

The whole event was kept going at the perfect pace by MCs Ian Bredenkamp and Elana Afrika who said the event was of “such a high standard that it made working there a pleasure.”

The day proved to be so enjoyable and fruitful that Bryan Havemann, the Programme Manager for the Cape Leopard Trust, said, “I cannot see why this should not become an annual event that showcases the work of the Cape Leopard Trust.” Adding, “The fundraiser event was of an exceptional standard and Opulent Living did an incredible job of pulling it all together”.

It is important to all mention our gratitude to the supporting sponsors, Mercedes-Benz/Sandown Motors, and First National Bank.
